Government Mandate on Aadhaar Linkage

  • As per the amendment in PMLA rules by the Government,all bank accounts should be linked with Aadhaar by Dec 31, 2017; failing which the accounts will become inoperative till the time the Aadhaar number is submitted and linked to the accounts.

How to avail LPG subsidy

If you have already linked your Aadhaar number to the bank account, the LPG subsidy can be received in bank account by updating the Aadhaar details with your LPG Agency. Process for the same:

Aadhaar FAQ' for Individual Accounts

My Aadhaar number is already linked with some other Bank, do I still have to link Aadhaar number with my HDFC Bank account?

  • Yes, as per the new amendment in PMLA rules by the Government, all accounts should be linked with Aadhaar by Dec 31, 2017; failing which the accounts will become inoperative till the time the Aadhaar number is submitted in the said accounts. Request you to kindly update your Aadhaar number in all your Bank accounts.
  • In case a family member is a joint holder in your account, you are requested to update their Aadhaar number in the said account.

I have applied for my Aadhaar number but have still not received the same

  • Every person who has applied for Aadhaar, is issued an Enrolment Acknowledgement Slip. Using the enrolment id and details mentioned in this acknowledgement slip, the person can download an e-Aadhaar from UIDAI website (website:https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/)

I do not have Aadhaar Number

  • In case a customer does not have Aadhaar number, they need to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to apply for the same.

Do I need to update Aadhaar for Minor accounts

  • Yes, Linking of Aadhaar is applicable for all accounts, Customer can do it through NetBanking / Mobile Banking or by visiting nearest branch

Is Aadhaar applicable to Non-residents?

  • In case a customer is a non-resident, Aadhaar is not applicable / mandatory.

I am a foreign national working in India. Is it mandatory for me to link Aadhaar number in bank records?

  • In case a customer is a foreign national / NRI / NRO / Expats, Aadhaar linking is not applicable.

Aadhaar FAQ's for Non Individual Accounts

What are Non Individual accounts

  • Accounts opened under Sole Proprietorship / Partnership / Private Ltd / Public Ltd / Trust / Association / Society / Clubs / LLP / etc are Non Individual account.

Is Aadhaar Mandatory for Non Individual accounts

  • Yes, as per the new amendment in PMLA rules by the Government, all the authorized signatories in the account should link their Aadhaar and PAN / Form 60by Dec 31, 2017; failing which the accounts will become inoperative till the time the Aadhaar number and PAN / Form 60 is submitted in the said accounts. Request you to kindly link your Aadhaar and PAN number / Form 60 in your authorized signatory customer id.
  • Pls note, that all the Authorized signatories of the Non Individual accounts have to link their Aadhaar and PAN /Form 60 in their Authorized signatories’ customer Id’s.

I have a Non - Individual Current account with the bank. What is the process of linking Aadhaar and PAN/ Form 60 in Authorized signatories’ customer id.

  • For Aadhaar - Authorized signatories in Non Individual accounts can link their Individual Aadhaar number through Netbanking or by visiting the nearest branch with original and copy of Aadhaar card and submit the application form available at the branch.
  • For PAN / Form 60 - Authorized signatories in Non Individual accounts can link their Individual PAN number / Form 60 by visiting branch with original and copy of PAN card / Form 60 and submit the application form available at the branch.

I am a foreign national / non-resident and an Authorized signatoryin Non Individual account. Is it mandatory for me to link my Aadhaar number in bank records?

  • In case a customer is a foreign national / NRI / NRO / Expats, Aadhaar linking is not applicable.
  • Click here to link your Aadhaar through Net Banking --> Select "Accounts" --> Select "Requests" --> View / Update Aadhaar Number

    Login to NetBanking. Select the ‘Request’ section under Accounts option and click ion ‘View/Update Aadhaar Number’.

  • Step 2

    Select the Account to which you would like to link your Aadhaar Number. Re-enter your Aadhaar Number and click on ‘Update’.

  • Step 3

    Click on ‘Confirm’ after checking all your updated details.

Login to NetBanking
  • Step 1

    Login to MobileBanking App. Select the ‘Request’ section under Accounts option and tap on ‘View/Update Aadhaar Number’.

  • Step 2

    Select the Account to which you would link to link your Aadhaar Number

  • Step 3

    Re-enter your Aadhaar Number, tap on ‘Update’ and then tap on ‘Confirm’ to submit the details.

    ATM screen prompts 'Link Aadhaar to your bank account'

    Select 'Yes' and enter your valid Aadhaar number

Find your nearest ATM

  • You can send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 5676712. Send- AS space space space
  • Step 1

    Select option #1 after Language selection. Validate using ‘Customer ID and TIN’ or Debit Card Number and PIN’.

  • Step 2

    Select option #6 for ‘Complaints and Requests’ then select option #2 for ‘Requests’.

  • Step 3

    Select #8 to update your Aadhaar Number in your selected Account and re-enter it.
