Audi has launched its two-seater sports car R8 Spyder in India. Priced at Rs. 1.47 Crore (ex-showroom Maharashtra), the car is powered by a 5.2 litre, V10 engine delivering 525 BHP. The sports car zooms from zero to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds.
Luxury carmakers may have to hike their car prices as the government has hiked customs duty on assembled cars to 30% from the existing 10% before the Budget. Car makers like BMW, Audi and Mercedes have made no official comments with regard to that, but analysts say that prices of assembled cars may see an increase up to Rs. 4 Lakh.
