Why was my FASTag closed?

Your HDFC Bank FASTag has been closed as you failed to update Vehicle Registration Number against Chassis No. within timeline.

As per NPCI guidelines, vehicle registration no. should be updated within 90 days from date of FASTag issuance.

Each FASTag must be linked with the unique combination of vehicle registration number and chassis number. For new vehicles where the registration number is not yet available, FASTag is issued on the chassis number.

Follow these simple steps to close your FASTag Wallet and withdraw the balance amount.

  1. Login to FASTag customer portal via OTP verification
  2. Make service request
  3. Request type – Closure Request
  4. Sub-Request Type – Wallet closure
  5. Select Reason for closure
  6. Remarks if any
  7. Enter Bank details - A/c no., Bank Name, Bank IFSC for refund
  8. Select Payment Mode
  9. Upload Cancelled Cheque copy
  10. Click on consent for T&Cs
  11. Click on Proceed
  12. Enter OPT & Captcha and Submit Application
