What is FASTag?
FASTag is a device that employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for making toll payments directly from the prepaid account linked to it. It is affixed on the windscreen of your vehicle and enables you to drive through toll plazas, without stopping for cash transactions. The tag has a validity of 5 years and after purchasing, you only need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your requirement.

How can I buy FASTag?
You may visit any of the
Point of Sale (POS) locations at Toll Plazas / HDFC Bank Sales offices to get your tag account created. You may call our customer care @ 1800 120 1243 to know more details.
You will need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document along with your vehicle at the POS / Sales office location.
What are the documents needed to apply for FASTag?
You will need to carry original as well as copy of your KYC document
You need to submit the following documents along with the application for FASTag:
- Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
- Passport size photograph of the vehicle owner
- KYC documents as per the category of the vehicle owner:
Individual
- ID proof and Address proof from the list mentioned, and 1 passport size photograph
- Driving License PAN Card Passport Voter ID Card Aadhar Card (with address)
- A valid driving license would be sufficient for Address & ID proof.
Corporate
- Public Ltd./ Private Ltd./ Partnership Proprietorship
- Certificate of Incorporation/ Partnership Deed/Registration certificate of the firm PAN Card of Proprietor
- PAN Card of the corporate Address Proof of the Proprietor
- Photo ID of signing authority Shop Act or other Firm Proof
- List of Directors with addresses/Name and addresses of Partners
Our representative will provide you an application form, which you need fill and submit.
All required documents for FASTag should be in the name of the owner of the vehicle. If car owner is not present at the time of application, driver will need to submit his photo ID proof.
Can I avail a monthly pass?
The monthly pass facility is specific to each toll plaza. You may call our customer care @ 1800 120 1243 to check the details.
How can I recharge my tag account?
You may recharge your TAG account by making payment through cheque or online through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ NEFT/ RTGS or through Net Banking. The TAG account can be recharged upto Rs. 1,00,000.00 (Rupees One Lac only)
How do I recharge through HDFC Bank Fastag Portal?
- Log into Customer Portal: 'Customer Login', with your username and password
- Go to Road User Centre>>Payment and Top Up>> Recharge
- Select the Wallet ID to be recharged and mention the respective amounts to be uploaded
- Choose payment mode as 'Pay by Online' and click 'Continue'
- A new window will open with an option to select your bank
- Please select your bank from the list and continue
- You will be asked for the login credentials for your bank account. Please proceed with the details and complete the payment.
For recharge through NEFT/RTGS, please follow the following steps:
- Corporates can also get their FASTag Account recharged through NEFT/RTGS payment option
- For recharge through NEFT/RTGS, in the payee details, the corporate to Add HDFC Bank’s eTOLL Dummy Account No. and IFSC Code
- Post the NEFT/RTGS is initiated, the corporate will share the screenshot of the NEFT/RTGS transfer screenshot along with the Wallet/Account Recharge details
- Post sighting the funds, the Central Team will recharge the respective wallets
- Convenience fee will be applicable for online recharge through NEFT/RTGS
Note:
- Convenience fee will be applicable for online recharge.
- Rs. 1,00,000 can be recharged by KYC customers
- Do not refresh the browser or press the 'Back' button in the middle of the transaction.
- NEFT / RTGS option is available to Corporate only
Is there any convenience fees?
Convenience fee will be levied to all the HDFC Bank FASTag Customers for executing "Online TAG Recharge" transactions. The rate of convenience fee will be levied based on the type of transactions.
Please find below the details of convenience fee rates for your reference.
- Credit Card 1.10% of the transaction value
- Debit Card 1% of the transaction value
- Net Banking Rs. 8
Plus taxes as per the prevailing applicable rates.
Note: Convenience fee is levied against transaction processing fees
Is there any discount / cashback on Toll payments using FASTag?
- You can avail cashback of 7.5% on all National Toll payments using FASTag in FY 2017-18.
- There is no capping on Cashback amount*
- Cashback will be credited in FASTag wallet in the 3rd month of the transaction month, i.e. if the transaction is done in June then cashback will be processed in September.
- Cashback for next three years*
- For FY 2017-18 - 7.5%
- For FY 2018-19 - 5%
- For FY 2019-20 - 2.5%

Why concessions to local/ frequent users are different?
Concession to local/frequent users are extended as welfare measures. There may be variation in the concessions available as these have been provided at different times under different fee rules and provisions of concession agreement.

What is the meaning of Blacklisted FASTag?
Tag can be blacklisted for various reasons such any government authority can send us the request or wallet has gone in to negative balance. Once the account is recharged with sufficient balance tag will move in to active list however the tags which has been blacklisted due to govt authority request will become active only if we get a request from them
Is it possible to transfer my FASTag from existing bank to HDFC Bank?
It is not possible to transfer the FASTag sticker and wallet balance from one bank to another. Each FASTag is linked to a specific issuer bank, and wallet balances are associated with the respective accounts. If you change banks, you need to close your existing FASTag account and get a new FASTag from HDFC Bank.
